Farrow Riverside Miracle Park, the new fully accessible playground and park located in East Windsor, recently hosted Accessibility Awareness Play Day to give children with special needs and their families a chance to explore everything that this tremendous new park has to offer.
This park provides a great chance for children of all ability levels to play outdoors and enjoy a full selection of playground equipment. It features brightly coloured equipment to better allow children with low vision to navigate it, low ramps for easier access for those with mobility issues, soft, rubberized floors, a zip line for wheelchairs and many more great features to make this park inclusive no matter what challenges a child may be facing.
The park was made possible through the generous support of the people and organizations in Windsor and Essex County along with a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and there are plans for this great facility to continue to grow. Future plans for Farrow Riverside Miracle Park include a pavilion complete with picnic tables and a barbeque, upgraded washrooms and parking lots for easier access and much more. The park will also include a miracle sports field, which will be home to a Miracle baseball league. The field will have a rubber surface like the park and allow access for wheelchairs to make this field more inclusive.
At NYN we are proud to be a sponsor of this project and are excited to see the great response that Farrow Riverside Miracle Park has received so far. We also can’t wait to see the future additions to the park.
