NYN is proud to be partnering with the WE-SPARK Health Institute in their efforts to help combat the spread of COVID-19 and study the impact the virus has had in our local communities. As part of our support of these efforts, NYN is providing $20,000 in grant funding for the project Collection and Evaluation of Potential Long-Term Impacts of COVID-19 infections in Windsor-Essex. The goal of this project is to study the experiences of patients who have been admitted to local hospitals for COVID-19, including:
This study will take place between 2021-2022, and will be conducted by doctors representing Windsor Regional Hospital, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and Erie Shoes Healthcare.
NYN has had the opportunity to work with WE-SPARK since the inception of their organization, and value the chance to be a part of their efforts to examine the effects of COVID-19 in our community.
WE-SPARK is an innovative partnership between Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, St. Clair College, the University of WIndsor and Windsor Regional Hospital that brings together health research strengths, expertise and infrastructure from across Windsor-Essex. They are establishing research pipelines to address pressing health issues, advancing discovery, innovation and technology, training, and promoting excellence among healthcare professionals while also engaging our community.
